hi, it has been suggested to me that i try Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for anger and anxiety issues relating to Borderline Personality Disorder am in treatment for.

i have researched that DBT has its roots in Buddhism, although the thaerapy itself isnt specifically Budddhist. i have heard from other sufferers that it has helped them recover completely, but as a Christian, i'm concerned about spiritual element of something like this. anyone else have any insights on this?

If it might help, I would give it a go. I understand your concerns about the roots of this treatment, but you know that you are anchored in Jesus.

If it will help you, then do it (my opinion).

From my understanding it is basically a talking therapy, and the Buddhism derived part does not contain anything spiritual, it is just the principle of being aware of "now", without making judgement on anything (yourself or others). You can actually argue that this is a very Christian thing to do - learning the art of being non-judgemental and not allowing Earthly happenings to affect you through the day.

I'm only going on the very little I have heard about this, but I don't think there is anything to worry about in terms of Christianity, and may even help your connection with Jesus.

I personally feel that we can look for excuses if we want or look for a way to get better. This is only my personal view but sent with love and care.
